mediarelations 150x150 Media Relations Tip #9: Big events evolveArrival, load-in, and rehearsal time for a major media event is hectic.  It means swarms of technicians. In less than two days staging, lighting, computers, power, cabling, electrical, telephone lines, and most times external power generators to run it all requires installation.  As major events evolve in the planning process, the on-site media relations plan should evolve.  If any major changes effect the media accredited, inform them in advance of arrival.  You may think you’ve covered every possible scenario; think and plan again.   Leave this instruction with all unit coordinators and ask them to lead with it in their crew briefings:  “Do everything in your power to help the media get ready.  If it’s not in your power, find someone who is in charge and explain why it’s important.”
