[...] A community call for help… It is with a heavy heart that I am writing today. In the last week two womens’ shelters in Ottawa were burned down. One women died in the first fire. The second one was caused by a Molotov cocktail thrown at the house – how someone can do such a thing I cannot comprehend. Now forty women are homeless and missing the few possessions they had with them. A tragic turn to an already tough situation to be in. Thanks for this. I’ll add efry ottawa to the list as the only residential transition house for Ottawa women coming out of provincial or federal prisons. Also in Centretown, also under-funded..
